Hi all—we’re back in SF! Gabriel is doing very well! Germany turned out to be a really good move. We are happy to report he has had much improvement in the size of the swellings in his neck and groin and has had some big shifts in the outlook and perspective realm. He got a dazzling review from his acupuncturist a few days ago. He was quite pleased with the progress made in Germany and says that his blood is much less toxic, overall looks much better, and is not worried about the lymphom... Continue reading...

Gabriel is continuing to do well. I’m writing this whole he sleeps during his third fever push. They will do one more push with him in about 9 days and that will finish up our stay here. The swelling in his glands are noticably decreasing and the doc did an ultrasound the other day to mark progress (though he says that decreasing swelling isn’t the main goal, the strengthening of his immune system is primary). Gabriel likes the psychotherapist and is getting some new insights in their... Continue reading...

Hallo! All is going well here in Germany. Gabriel loves Hufeland. He has been enjoying the food and getting all his needs met without any effort. We made some friends from Australia and England, and we are soon to be hanging out with a couple from Nigeria. There are also some people here from the States. Gabriel had his 41st birthday on Monday. In the infusion room (everyone sits in a circle to get their treatment) the group sang happy birthday to him in a collection of accents that was terri... we have landed! two planes, 2 trains, and 5 days later...
today is our third day at hufeland. emotionally gabriel is doing better than i am. i guess i've felt it coming even before we left california. i think i just need to breakdown a bit before i can move forward. now that fundraising is on hold, i am forced to deal with the reality of the situation more fully. the mortality issue is the most difficult for me. also tears are surfacing around the fact i'm finding it remarkably beautiful ... Hi all! Well, we’ve got some good news… First off Gabriel is doing well (only still still struggles with energy and "blah" feelings). He had and oncology appointment on May 12th and the doctor says he looks better. He thinks the lymph nodes haven’t changed much in size, but looking at them, they do look less swollen—perhaps the swelling around them has decreased. He says to continue on the same course and come back in 2-3 months and that he doesn’t have the immediate concern that... Continue reading...

Hi spring chickens! I’m back in action after a much needed break (has it already been a month? Wow!) I’m feeling much better now and my back is too. I’ve been doing some intense spring cleaning that has put me back in my tactile life instead of gazing at the computer screen all day which feels good. I’ve decided not to do an online store at this time since the computer seems to kill me. We were able to go out amongst the wildflowers for a few days and soak in some hot springs to r... Hello out there. Our weekend fund-raisers were a success! Gabriel’s friends and family were able to pull in $3800 from their fun and fabulous beer, pizza, and prize event! The WAPF potluck was spectacular as well. We raised $445 that night and expect just as much from the silent auction ending this weekend. Not bad for a small community! This brings us up to nearly $18,000--- Big fat kisses to all who made this happen.
No rest for the wicked though (not yet at least), we still have $12,000... Continue reading...

Update from Sabine
To those of you out there working your juju in whichever way you do best, whether it be intentions or prayers, I want you to know that there has been oodles of lovely supportive warming energy floating around our apartment that I can really feel, and it is having some notable positive effects! When I get the chance, I lie down and tune into it and just let it soak in. The few times I did it when I was in pain with my back or my head (too much computer) my pain went away i... Back in October of 2007, Gabriel went to the dentist to have the roots of several uncapped root canals pulled out of his mouth, and some fillings replaced with non-amalgam material. The month following the gland below his jaw bone and left ear began to swell. Since he just had a lot of dental work, it was thought that it was probably an infection. The x-rays to follow showed nothing dentally wrong in that area. During this time I put him on the GAPS diet, which is a diet designed to heal the ... Continue reading...

I met gabriel 7 years ago on my birthday. There was a palpable magic between us. We have been inseparable since. I used to tell people (and still do) that he’s just like me but a boy…or like having a girlfriend and a boyfriend rolled into one. he has the prettiest heart I’ve ever seen. He feeds my soul in the way that no one else can match. I guess that’s why I’ve stuck around so long. It also helps that we have the same sense of random silliness mixed with tasteless humor and a spl... Continue reading...

About Me
My studies have mostly been in the healing arts shared with my passion for the visual and fine arts. I studied acupressure and herbal medicine before I set out to explore the States in my truck over a 4-year period. Acupressure massage supported me financially on my journey. I now work for a holistic doctor in San Francisco, which helps to continue fueling my interest in nutrition and natural medicine. The foundation of diet that I’ve adhered to over the last 10 years is based on the principles of Weston A. Price. It has made the most sense to me so far. On the creative front (besides cooking), I’ve been working on several books; a collection of drawing and poetry I did on the road, a tour book of San Francisco with made up stories, an underground guide to San Francisco, and a travel health/recipe book. The next to come will undoubtedly be a cancer diet book. It seems like this is how my brain spills out after collecting too much information in its little drawers.
